The Lightning Chorus will hold a parent meeting on Tuesday November 10th, 2015 at 7:00 PM. All Chorus parents are invited to hear about this year’s planned activities, concerts and trips. Mr Brad Franks, Fine Arts Chair will be joined by Ms. Tina Gill, and the Cypress Bay Choral Association Board members, including Judi Elfont, Cristina Miranda-Burns, Amy Whetzel-Hess, and Debbie Marino Berger for a presentation of what’s in store for the CBHS Chorus this year. There are many exciting events planned for this year. The Lightning Chorus was one again selected to sing at Disney’s Candlelight Processional. This year we will be performing on both shows on December 8th. We have two winter concerts including one at the Broward Theater of the Performing arts. These concerts have been a huge success and they are a combined Chorus-Band event. Do not miss them! There are various Chorus competitions including Districts and State events, followed by the Spring Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction, one of our fundraising highlights! This year we are planning a semi-formal Chorus Banquet at the Weston Hills Country Club in May, and in June students will perform with other chorus groups from around the U.S. at Carnegie Hall in New York City. All parents are encouraged to attend this important meeting.
Preparations are already underway, with rehearsals scheduled for the Candlelight recording. Each year Cypress Bay Chorus, along with hundreds of high schools from all over the United States, submits a video recording of specific Christmas music selected by the Disney organization. Cypress Bay Chorus has been fortunate to have been selected to perform for several years now, and we are working hard to make sure this year is a special one. Candlelight is a major Chorus event, which takes place at Epcot (Disney) in Orlando each year. The actual date and celebrity guest reader is selected by the Disney organization, and will be communicated in a few weeks.
The Weston Children’s Chorus was founded during the 2014-2015 school year. Do you have an elementary school-age child who loves to sing? Then the Weston Children’s Chorus is for them! This year we are looking to expand the group and participate in new activities. For additional information contact Bradley.email@example.com and look for additional information soon!
The Cypress Bay Chorus is starting the new 2015-2016 academic year with a bang. Congratulations to the NEW Chorus Officers that will no doubt make this a great year.
